Lock in reliable backup power for your home and get paid to support grid stability with the ConnectedSolutions Program. Earn rewards each year by participating, and contribute to a cleaner, more resilient grid while ensuring you have reliable backup power with the Emporia Home Battery System.
Get StartedBattery energy storage systems are an effective way to keep your home powered during an outage, and ConnectedSolutions helps you earn money back for installing a battery.
ConnectedSolutions is a grid services program available in New England. Customers of National Grid, Eversource, Rhode Island Energy, or Cape Light Compact can earn incentives by allowing their home battery to support the grid during periods of high demand. Your utility company pays you to allow them to export energy from your battery to the grid during summer afternoons when the grid is stressed. This can happen up to 60 times between June 1st and September 30th, for a maximum of 3 hours per dispatch event (between 3 pm and 8 pm). Participants are compensated on a pay-for-performance basis for the average energy you curtail over the course of a season.
If there's a power outage, you'll still have access to your backup battery power. Most ConnectedSolutions events occur in the summer, while outages typically happen during winter storms. If severe weather is predicted, utilities will not call for a discharge event, ensuring you keep your battery charged for emergencies.
Schedule a free consultation with an Emporia expert to find the right battery size for your home and energy goals.
After installation, complete the ConnectedSolutions enrollment form through the Emporia portal.
Your utility and their partner EnergyHub will confirm your application and send enrollment confirmation.
Once enrolled, your battery automatically participates in grid events each summer, earning you incentive payments.
Emporia Home Battery System owners can participate in ConnectedSolutions with or without solar if you have a residential service account and receive electric services from one of the following participating utilities:
Enrollment: After your Emporia battery system is installed and approved for operation, visit our website and complete the enrollment form. You'll receive confirmation emails from your utility and their partner, EnergyHub, about your application and enrollment status.
Event Opt-Out: You can opt out of any event through the Emporia app. Keep in mind that opting out may reduce your overall performance and the incentive amount you receive for the season.
Unenrollment: If you decide to leave the program, contact our support team at support@emporiaenergy.com with your name, address, and battery serial number. Note that once you unenroll, you will no longer be eligible for incentives.
