Job Description

At Emporia, hardware products are the tip of the spear – attracting customers, fueling data analytics, and enabling demand response through integration with Emporia’s energy management platform. We provide our customers with reliable, high-value-add products at industry leading pricing.

We are looking for an Electronics Laboratory Technician to assist us with prototype hardware builds in our Boulder CO office. Tasks will be varied, but revolve around kitting, assembling, and reworking PCBAs. Opportunities to assist with hardware testing and other bring-up tasks under the guidance of a Sr. Engineer may be available as well dependent on candidate experience and skill set.

Hours per week will vary depending on hardware phase.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Soldering. 0402 or smaller, QFN, SOIC, etc., hidden thermal pads and other features requiring hot plates or heat guns, other general soldering skills.
  • PCBA rework – general, including high pin count, heavy copper, power switching devices, etc.
  • EEE component search using Digikey, Mouser, or similar
  • Clear, concise communicator able to follow directions with an eye for details.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with IPC soldering and assembly standards.
  • Mechanical assembly skills, basic hand and power tool use, ability to assembly machined and printed parts, tapping holes, etc.
  • Familiar with 3D printing and post processing.
